ARE YOU A SHOE LOVER?

Anyone who knows me is aware that I love shoes, particularly when the soles are red. As someone who has an entire Instagram account dedicated to her Pigalle's one might even say that I'm a little bit "shoe-obsessed."

That being said, while I love #myloubis there is another pair of shoes in my larger-than-average shoe closet that rank right alongside them; they are a simple, unassuming pair of black satin peep-toe pumps:

They aren't made by a renowned shoe designer.

They aren't my most comfortable pair of shoes.

They aren't even my most beautiful pair.

So why does this particular pair rank so high on my totem-pole of shoes you may ask?

Well because I wore them on one of the best days of my life; the day I got to marry my best friend.

I know - super sappy and sentimental right? However, those shoes equipped me - and quite literally carried me - into one of the most important and significant moments of my life. Not to mention the fact that kissing a six-foot-three man without the aid of a little height-boosting pair of heels would (at the very least) require a five-foot-four gal to stand on her tippie-toes!

There are a lot of people out there who don't understand why some people love shoes so much. To them I say that while many pairs of shoes may seem ridiculous, over-priced, and uncomfortable, they are literally and figuratively what carry a person and help them to put their "best foot forward" so to speak.

Whether you're partial to sneakers, flats, or super high heels, everyone owns at least one pair of shoes. Candidly speaking, I think that everyone is in fact a shoe-lover in the denial phase. For instance, if you were to stop and think about what your week would look and feel like without any footwear at all I'm sure you would quickly realize that the right pair of shoes are both beneficial and essential (which may in turn cause you to appreciate and love them a little more...)

After all, you wouldn't want to go hiking on muddy trails barefoot or walk across a hot sandy beach in anything other than flip flops. Similarly you wouldn't want to show up to a fancy event in ragged, dog-chewed sneakers or on the other end of the spectrum, show up to a soccer game wearing high heels!

It's all about having the right pair that suit your needs and sense of style.

The beauty of shoes is that there is literally a pair out there for everyone. Some hold sentimental value, others are very practical and help carry you through a tough work week - either way I think that the true definition of a shoe-lover is someone who appreciates the value of a single pair of shoes, regardless of what they look like.

But of course it helps if they're pretty too...
