Christmas is literally right around the corner so I thought I would share some of the photos from our Christmas card photo-shoot with you! These pictures were taken in The Pines right after a fresh snowfall so not only did our surroundings look like a gorgeous "winter wonderland" but they felt magical too.
I have been wanting to take some nice photos with Wes for quite some time now as we haven't had our picture taken together (besides the odd selfie or two) since our wedding day over five years ago! Unfortunately the only day we were able to shoot also happened to be the coldest day of the year so far (-20 degrees Celsius!) but you wouldn't be able to tell from the pictures. For the most part I think we look pretty toasty :) Love really does keep you warm!
Like most men my husband doesn't like having his picture taken so I feel the need to say: THANK YOU for doing this with me honey! <3
Also a big thank you to my sister-in-law Corina who was our photographer on this occasion and did a fantastic job!
About the Outfit:
After my husband agreed to "pose" alongside me I had some serious outfit planning to do. I knew I wanted a red, long sleeve dress with a small train at the back but I looked everywhere, even online, and couldn't find anything close to what I wanted. So... as a last resort I went to FabricLand where I found the perfect pattern and material both of which happened to be on sale. BONUS.
So technically I didn't buy this dress I made it...correction my mom made it and I helped lol So a final thank you to my mom. THANKS MOM!
The dress is made out of winter jersey which means it has a lot of stretch and is very thick. I also wore leggings underneath for the pictures so despite the frigid temperatures I stayed relatively warm. I love how the dress turned out and I can't wait to wear it again tomorrow night at my church's Christmas Eve service.
