This week I've teamed up with PopJulia, yet another fantastic online clothing company with some gorgeous and affordable fashion finds.
The faux fur "pillowed" vest trend is one that's been very popular on Instagram for about a year now. I LOVE any trend that incorporates fur so obviously it's an item that's been on my "list" for quite some time. That being said, it's no surprise when PopJulia approached me wanting to collaborate, that I immediately typed "faux fur vest" in their search box. Luckily they had exactly what I was looking for.
I wanted to keep this outfit semi-casual and due to the still frigid temperatures I decided to mix things up and wear a beanie hat as well. To offset the vest and really make it stand out I chose to wear all black clothing (and hat) paired with rose gold accessories. Several months ago I purchased the most amazing Fashion Nova boots and I've been dying to blog about them so this seemed to be the perfect opportunity - minus the fact that I'm modelling this look on glare ice! #dangerous
You might also notice that I'm sporting much shorter hair, as I recently took about seven inches off. I'm calling it a "maintenance" cut that's been a long time coming, but maybe I'll talk a little more in-depth about that next week....
Basically I've been struggling with hair-related issues for about three years now and it's become something that has really been weighing me down - hence the chop.
While it has been, and continues to be a very trying experience, it's caused me to become more resilient and taught me valuable life lessons that are better learned sooner rather than later in life.
Here's just one of them: If you want to be truly free you need to let go of the things in your life that are slowing you down or preventing you from living life to the fullest.
For me this haircut was such an experience. Can you believe I was going to go even shorter?! #pixieland
