One of the most amazing aspects of the human brain, I think, is in its ability to make and store memories. It's amazing how a moment in time can be filed away in one's mind and then re-opened and replayed so one can experience the feelings of that moment all over again.
One of my most cherished memories was made five years ago in this Beauty Spot.
In 2010 the water level of Lake Nipissing was at an all time low, so in place of the water that you see in these photograhs, was a giant sandbar.
It was absolutely gorgeous; the sun was on its way down and the sky was lit up with shades of pink, orange, and blue. My then boyfriend suggested that we walk along the sandbar so we did, hand-in-hand. Suddenly he stopped, let go of my hand, pulled a little velvet box out of his pocket, and got down on one knee.
Needless to say I said yes and my "then boyfriend" became my husband.
Five years later we still stop by this spot every now and then and walk hand-in-hand through the shallow water, cherishing this special memory and each other.
